Here’s a preview of the Thank You from IACMI CEO, Craig Blue.
To all Members in attendance at the 2016 IACMI Members Meeting:
Thank you.
Nearly 300 Members joined us in Michigan at the second IACMI-The Composites Institute Members Meeting. Attendees represented over 100 industries/companies and numerous academic, national laboratory, partner and government organizations collectively representing the depth of knowledge and collaborative strength of the organization.
We were pleased to welcome Michigan Governor Rick Snyder, Congresswoman Debbie Dingell, and Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan to the event. In addition to the elected officials in attendance, Michigan partners- Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), Michigan State University, LIFT- The Lightweight Metals Institute, and the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center (MMTC) demonstrated strong support for the event, including MEDC sponsored North American Auto Show tickets for all IACMI members. Key participants also included Mark Johnson and several leaders from the Department of Energy’s Advanced Manufacturing Office, Barbara McCallahan from Senator Debbie Stabenow’s office, Governmental Advisory, Technical Advisory and IACMI’s Board of Directors, including Co-chair, Taylor Eighmy.
The January meeting was an opportunity to share progress and highlight future goals and research projects. In addition to the technology collaboration opportunities in research and development projects, we also invite members to participate in many of the workforce development opportunities, including internships in the Summer of 2016.
Significant growth in the composites industry is expected over the next several years. This growth will require additional engineering and production talent, and we look forward to partnering with you. Please take five minutes to complete this workforce survey and visit the
IACMI January member meeting webpage to preview the final agenda, speaker bios, presentations, internship links and other pertinent information.
The cost share form from your meeting packet is on the website and should be returned by February 12, 2016.
Mark your calendar for IACMI’s third membership meeting July 26-28, 2016 in Indiana.
We look forward to a successful 2016 working with you.
Thank you for your partnership with The Composites Institute.
Sincerely,
Craig A. Blue
