Manufacturing USA

IACMI is one of 18 institutes that make up Manufacturing USA, a national network connecting people, ideas and technology to secure U.S. global leadership in advanced manufacturing. These institutes are public-private partnerships that each have a distinct technology focus but work toward a common goal: to secure the future of U.S. manufacturing through innovation, education, and collaboration. Manufacturing USA’s goal is to establish an innovation community that ushers in the next generation of manufacturers, manufacturing supply chains, workforce development programs, and technological centers of excellence to the U.S. economy.

Manufacturing USA® helps secure U.S. global leadership in advanced manufacturing through large-scale public-private collaboration on technology, supply chain, and advanced manufacturing workforce development. The network includes the U.S. Departments of Commerce, Energy, and Defense, their 18 sponsored manufacturing innovation institutes, and six additional federal agency partners, creating a whole-of-government, national effort to drive innovation in manufacturing. In 2023, the network worked with over 2,900 member organizations, including more than 1,300 mostly small manufacturers; collaborated on over 920 applied R&D projects; provided over 150,000 people with advanced manufacturing technical skills; and generated investments of $539 million in these activities from state, federal, and industry funds.
