KNOXVILLE, TENN., July 11, 2019 – IACMI – The Composites Institute today announced its newest consortium member, Magna International. The mobility technology company’s exteriors group will collaborate with the institute to drive the innovation and efficient manufacturing of composites in the automotive industry.
As a consortium member, Magna will contribute to IACMI’s more than 160-member network to further research and development for the manufacturing industry’s adoption of composite materials. Magna’s expertise in the automotive industry will contribute to the overall energy-efficiency of vehicles through lightweighting and other emerging technologies.

IACMI – The Composites Institute member benefits include the opportunity to network and collaborate with internationally-recognized experts, industry leaders, and innovators in the advanced composites industry. The Institute’s semi-annual Members Meeting will be held in Denver, Colorado, in July 2019. More than 300 people are expected to join the event to connect with ecosystem partners and discuss more than 50 workforce development highlights and technical outcomes across key application areas, including advancements in the automotive sector.
