Lockheed Martin Solidifies Charter Membership with IACMI-The Composites Institute

KNOXVILLE, TENN. (October 14, 2016) The Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation—Lockheed Martin, a global security and aerospace company, has solidified its role as a charter member of the Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation (IACMI). The 100+ member consortium is funded by over $250 million in investment, including a $70 million grant by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).

“IACMI has an ever-growing ecosystem of partners,” said IACMI Chief Executive Officer Craig Blue. “And we look forward to strengthening our reach in the composites industry with Lockheed Martin’s contributions as a global security, innovation and aerospace company.”

As part of its Charter Membership, Lockheed Martin will have influence in creation and direction of IACMI, as well as one appointed charter member representative to the IACMI Board of Directors. Dr. Kristen Bloschock was chosen to foster collaborations across Lockheed Martin to accelerate manufacturing innovations. Dr. Bloschock currently serves as Strategic Manufacturing Thread Lead, Advanced Materials and is responsible for managing the corporation’s technical relationship with the materials-focused Manufacturing USA institutes.
