Carbon fiber is a significant weight-saving option, and the advancement of recycling capabilities is necessary to integrate the material for long-term sustainability. ARCHITECT Magazine writer Blaine Brownell is starting the conversation on the impact of lightweighting in architecture, in regard to the advantages and limitations of carbon fiber in his article, “Is Carbon Fiber All it Cracked Up to Be?” To minimize such limitations, IACMI members, including  Vartega, American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA), CHZ Technologies, and the Composites Recycling Technology Center, are developing recyclability advantages with innovative solutions.
