IACMI members, partners gain access to Spinning Carbide Line

IACMI – The Composites Institute has recently acquired spinning carbide line technology.

The equipment is configured for batch process melt spinning of high performance polymers such as preceramic polymers for production of Silicon Carbide fibers.

Located at the Auxiliary Services Building along Stephenson Drive at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville campus, this technology can benefit multiple industries and applications including defense and hypersonics, high temperature, aerospace, UAVs, drones and high performance automotive. IACMI members and partners interested in learning more are encouraged to contact IACMI CTO Dr. Uday Vaidya.
