IACMI Chief Technology Officer named Editor in Chief for Composites-B: Engineering

The Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing (IACMI – The Composites Institute) is proud to announce that Chief Technology Officer, Uday Vaidya, PhD, has been recently named as Editor in Chief for the esteemed journal, Composites-B: Engineering. Composites-B Engineering is the premier source for leading composites research and innovation, spanning the evaluations and models for engineering processes in technical areas, such as aerospace, vehicles, infrastructure, and more.

Vaidya will serve the international publication, issued by Elseveir, to provide global reporting on the foremost research and critical reviews in regard to composites and advanced materials science. His leadership will facilitate a composites engineering forum in which to discuss the issues and barriers to the advancement of all composites research and innovation, including additive manufacturing, recycling, carbon composites, product innovation, materials morphology, and much more. His newly appointed duties as editor in chief include North America and an array of locations, including regions in Southwest and Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. Vaidya’s contributions to the composites industry continually bolster the growth of composites research and development, workforce training, and technology deployment.

In addition to his responsibilities as IACMI’s CTO, Vaidya currently serves as University of TennesseeOak Ridge National Laboratory (UT-ORNL) Governor’s Chair Professor in Advanced Composites Manufacturing and Director of the Fibers and Composites Manufacturing Facility (FCMF) at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Vaidya has notably been awarded by SPE Composites as the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) Person of the Year for his contributions to composites education. His more than 30 years of expertise incorporates the extensive development of defense, transportation, and industrial application composites.
