Join us February 16 through 18 for IACMI’s Winter 2021 Virtual Members Meeting as we welcome featured speaker Steve Nolan.
Steve serves as Senior Structures Design Engineer at the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). He currently leads the Advanced Materials for Structures initiatives within the State Structures Design Office, which includes FRP composites, high-strength stainless steel strands, fiber-reinforced concrete, and ultra-high performance concrete materials.
During his presentation, Steve will provide historical context on FDOT’s work with FRP composites over the decades and how attention has now shifted to reinforced and prestressed concrete with broadening of fiber types and resin systems.
He’ll also weigh in on strategies that can drive further development of innovation and deliver cost effective solutions that can succeed at an infrastructure scale and within the existing culture of the construction industry. His presentation will provide insights on what a successful value proposition for the future could entail.
Steve has been employed with FDOT since 1996, and he has worked with in-house bridge design and developed many of the Department’s precast and prestressed concrete standards. He has also co-authored and presented numerous papers on FRP and prestressed concrete related to bridges and coastal structures.
Our three-day members meeting has an agenda packed with networking opportunities, high-level speakers, panel discussions, project reports, and breakout sessions.
