“There has been a chronic skills gap in U.S. manufacturing, but there are as many solutions as there are challenges. Tune in to engage with experts and understand how smart industry-recognized standards and credentials, STEM programs, internships, mentorships and apprenticeships and new teaching tools are being deployed to solve the skills gap.”
This episode we will be talking with the IACMI, the Composites Institute. IACMI is launching a hybrid program for CNC machining training that combines online learning and in-person machine time to deliver fast, engaging, and high-quality education to adults entering the industry. Students will complete online, augmented computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software training curriculum created by The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, followed by a hands-on, CNC boot camp at Pellissippi State Community College. The program is funded by the Department of Defense Industrial Base Analysis and Sustainment (IBAS) Program from the Office of Industrial Policy.
