Knoxville, TN, April 2, 2017… The Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation— IACMI-The Composites Institute, a national manufacturing innovation institute with more than 150 members is pleased to announce the promotion of two senior leaders within the organization. Robin Parton Pate has been named chief operating officer and Erin Brophy is now serving as Program Director for the institute. Ms. Pate is filling the role previously vacated by Dr. Renae Speck, who served the institute for three years as a loaned executive. Ms. Brophy’s position is a newly created role with oversight responsibility for the program, including comprehensive institute-wide reporting and project management. With project managing comes a great deal of responsibility and oversight lead by Ms. Brophy and the help of a project dashboard can keep everyone working in the most efficient way.
Both appointments are effective as of April 2018 and are the result of shifting organizational leadership needs and excellent performance within their previous roles.
“We greatly appreciate the dedication and impact Dr. Speck brought to our organization and are pleased to work with Robin and Erin in their expanded leadership roles. Robin joined our organization nearly three years ago after a decade of senior leadership roles at Scripps Networks Interactive and in service at several nonprofit boards. She’s quickly brought herself up to speed on federal and state relations and is a recognized communications thought-leader within the Manufacturing USA network”, stated IACMI CEO, John A. Hopkins. He continued, “Erin has become an integral projects team member over her last couple of years with the organization. Her scientific background coupled with her experience working with national laboratories, universities, and industry partners on IACMI technical projects have led her to become a key driver of the technical projects process. She has led process innovations, engaged with industry partners, and much of the increased efficiency and adaptation of our current projects process is a direct result of her efforts. As Robin and Erin grow their respective positions, several other team members will be leading additional responsibilities, especially within the communications team.”
“It’s an honor to work alongside the talented professionals serving our organization in this expanded capacity. Dr. Speck had a critical role in the establishment and leadership of our organization and our team is fortunate to have benefited from her tutelage. IACMI is in a very strong position and I look forward to continued alignment and impact with our federal, state, and industry stakeholders”, stated Robin Parton Pate, IACMI chief operating officer.
“Through my management of technical projects at IACMI over the last two years, I’ve had the opportunity to work directly with many partners to help bring their projects to fruition and better understand ways we can streamline the process. I’m passionate about the national program we’ve built and look forward to serving the institute and its remarkable partners in my new role,” said Erin Brophy, IACMI program director.
