An IACMI intern has received First Place recognition at the International Congress on Integrated Computational Materials Engineering (ICME) Student Poster Competition.
Saaketh Desai, a PhD student of Materials Engineering at Purdue University, and IACMI intern at Purdue, recently won First Place in the Student Poster Competition for the Fourth International Congress on ICME, which was organized by The Minerals, Metals, & Materials Society (TMS) in Tpsilanti, MI.
The research Mr. Desai presented covered his work on the molecular modeling of carbon fiber processing directed his advisor, Prof. Alejandro Strachan. Tongtong Shen and Dr. Chunyu Li are co-authors of the work.
Internships with IACMI partners offer opportunities for undergraduate students, like Saaketh, to work with researchers and graduate students to gain hands-on learning experience in conducting research and presenting findings. IACMI is proud of the hard work of these students and the mentors and professionals who support these students’ learning careers.
