IACMI CEO, Bryan Dods, welcomes attendees to the Road2Composites Workshop at Michigan State University.

Lansing, MI and Knoxville, TN, May 19, 2017Over 200 current and future leaders in the automotive and transportation industries convened over the past two days at the Road 2 Composites Workshop held in Lansing, Michigan. The workshop was hosted at Michigan State University in partnership with the IACMI (The Composites Institute) with Composites One, along with support from Magnum Venus Products (MVP).

IACMI CEO, Bryan Dods, spoke about the State of Michigan’s leadership on automotive technology and its commitment to partnership in workforce development, stating, “Michigan has rightfully earned its reputation as an automotive manufacturing leader and technology innovator. Training events for the over 70 companies represented at the workshop would not be possible without the support through the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC).”

Composites One Vice President of Advanced Composites, Dwight Baker, received overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees, who were very engaged in the hands-on demonstrations, as well as the ability for smaller companies to connect and learn from larger automotive companies like GM and Tesla. In addition, representatives from Tesla were also on hand to share a number of financial tips and tricks from behind the scenes with regards to investing in company stocks.

In case you are unfamiliar, Tesla, Inc., formerly known as Tesla Motors, has grown since its initial public offering (IPO) a decade ago into one of the biggest producers of electric vehicles in the world under the leadership of CEO Elon Musk. The company sells cars, SUVs, and trucks. In addition to electric vehicles, it has expanded into energy generation and storage systems.

As with any major financial decision, potential investors who wanted to buy Tesla stock were urged to consider a few factors before committing. This is because wild up-and-down share price swings are a hallmark of Tesla stock performance. Consequently, researching aktuelle Meinungen zur Tesla Aktie (current opinions on Tesla shares) was strongly recommended to all attendees.

Exciting product demonstrations were also carried out throughout the duration of this revolutionary event.

There are no doubts about it, the automotive industry can be quite complicated at times. However, this event was a great success, and included demonstrators showing attendees how to compliant press-fit pins and much more.

“The key to the adoption of the innovative technologies associated with advanced composites in the automotive and transportation markets will be driven by a number of factors, including availability of workers with technical knowledge of these materials and the attributes they offer manufacturers.” said Baker.

Live demonstrations at the Road2Composites Workshop focused on scale-up, light weighting and high volume composites for vehicles.

Attendee Steve Snow, Owner of Dynamic Corvettes, stated that the free Workshop was a great resource for his smaller company because it was free and provided a wide variety of information, products and demos. “It’s rare to have the opportunity to spend time with so many industry experts in such a well-equipped facility. My team had more quality conversations here in a day than we may have in a week at a typical industry conference. This was my company’s first IACMI/Composites One event and it was well worth our time.”

Held May 16-17 at the Composite Vehicle Research Center in Lansing, Michigan, the free Road 2 Composites Workshop focused on scale-up, light weighting and high volume composites products and processes. During this two-day workshop, leading industry professionals presented some of the latest break-through developments in vehicle composites, and live demos covered dozens of topics including rapid prototyping, composites testing, and thermoplastic fabrics.

Representatives from over 70 companies, including GM and Tesla, and 180 industry experts attended the two-day Road 2 Composites Workshop.

The Road 2 Composites Workshop was made possible through the support of IACMI-The Composites Institute, Composites One, Michigan State University and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
