Careers in Clean Energy Innovation free webinar series returns with a concentration on circular economy job paths
Join Manufacturing USA Institutes IACMI, RAPID, and REMADE on Tuesday, June 29 at 1PM ET, for a panel discussion on the latest trends in careers for the Circular Economy, advanced composites, and process intensification.
You’ll hear from the following industry and academic experts as they share lessons and experiences from their own career paths:
Dr. Kimberly Wise White, Vice President of the Regulatory and Technical Affairs Division, American Chemistry Council (ACC)
Dr. White oversees the development of ACC’s policy positions in response to regulatory and legislative proposals. She also leads a staff of experts to identify, analyze and create technical and policy materials. Dr. White has more than a decade of experience in the chemical industry, focused on managing science policy issues, scientific research, and product stewardship programs to inform regulatory decision-making. Most recently, she served as Senior Director for ACC’s Chemical Products and Technology Division. She also represented industry in chemical policy discussions with various audiences, including testimony to U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate Committees.
Kylie Van Aken, Mechanical Engineer, Vartega, Inc.
Kylie started at Vartega in June 2018 through an internship with IACMI where she focused on optimizing Vartega’s post-processing techniques. Through this internship Kylie had the opportunity to learn about the carbon fiber creation and disposal process, the value of carbon fiber, and the importance of reintroducing waste carbon fiber into manufacturing. After completing the internship she joined the Vartega team as a mechanical engineer and continued the work that she started through the internship. After a year with Vartega, Kylie left to pursue another dream of hers – to teach math and science through the Peace Corps in Sierra Leone, West Africa. She expected to spend two years there but all Peace Corps volunteers were evacuated in March of 2020 due to Covid-19. Since rejoining the Vartega team in August 2020, Kylie has focused on enhancing their quality control system, managing their production analytics and documentation & connecting the production team with the engineering team.
