IACMI-The Composites Institute Offers Online Training Course in Partnership with
Roane State Community College and American Composites Manufacturers Association
KNOXVILLE, TENN. (October 4, 2016) The Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation—Employers are growing jobs rapidly in the advanced composites fields, creating demand for a talent pipeline of trained workers. Last year, employers in the IACMI region posted more than 386,000 positions in the composites-related industry—vehicles, wind turbines, compressed gas storage and resins—which more than doubled since 2010. In partnership with Roane State Community College and American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA), IACMI-The Composites Institute will now offer a free, online training course geared toward providing supplemental preparation for individuals looking to join the composites workforce and those looking to receive an ACMA Certified Composites Technician (CCT) Vacuum Infusion Process (VIP) certification.
The Certified Composites Technician program is the industry’s gold standard for composites training. The advanced, self-paced course is designed in partnership with ACMA, who contributed a Vacuum Infusion CCT curriculum; Roane State Community College, who developed the online practice quizzes; and with IACMI, who provided learning reinforcement and composites manufacturing training videos. The complete program may also be used in combination with other resources and tools to introduce individuals seeking a higher-level overview of the VIP process. An online study guide is available for optional purchase at http://www.acmanet.org/.
