Superior Composites Co. LLC has started construction to expand its Vanceburg, KY, US composites manufacturing facility. The project, which will add 20,000 square feet to the existing facility, is part of a $2.5 million investment to create greater manufacturing flexibility and expand research and development capabilities. The expansion is expected to add more than 30 new jobs to the current workforce.
“We’re excited about the expansion to our facility and committed to leading the way for innovative composites applications,” said Jason Takac, COO of Superior Composites. “The expansion is part of Superior Composites’ commitment to develop new products and unique applications for composite reinforcements and veils. Our facilities must evolve with the changing needs of our immediate customers and the end use customers for our products.”
Superior Composites’ glass fiber veils and continuous filament reinforcements are used in a variety of consumer and industrial applications, including building materials, transportation components, chemical processing equipment and environmental emissions abatement systems.
Company leaders expect to complete the expansion by summer’s end.
