Indiana Manufacturing Institute hosts STEM Experience for students

In July 2017, Pudue University invited elementary, middle, and high school students to a STEM experience at the Indiana Manufacturing Institute (IMI) at Purdue University. The students toured the IMI and spoke with several graduate students about the research they are conducting.

The students worked with graduate students to observe the use of scientific equipment at the IMI. They learned about carbon fiber by observing carbon fiber composite materials under the microscope, and watched a tensile strength test of the high strength carbon fiber composite.
