LIFT and IACMI – The Composites Institute hosted Michigan’s new Lt. Governor, Garlin Gilchrist, for a tour of the institutes’ Detroit facility in February.
The tour provided both institutes the opportunity to introduce the new administration to the staff and facility as well as show their ongoing work and some of the results they have seen thus far. The State of Michigan, through the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), has played and continues to play a critical role in the support and growth of both institutes in Detroit.
The tour left Lt. Gov. Gilchrist impressed with the work being done in his home neighborhood of Corktown. After the tour, he tweeted “.@iacmihq & @NewsfromLIFT show how partnership & inclusive ingenuity drive innovation in #Detroit. Thank you for showing me your training, prototyping, and education programs that create opportunities for vets, K-12 students, and Corktown #StandTALLforMichigan”
