EERE ROBOTICS INTERNS

EERE-AMO is sponsoring fifty fully-funded summer interns. The internships provide an opportunity for students to explore a range of related career paths and for the corporations to continue developing a workforce pipeline. The recent First Robotics high school graduates selected for the program will be placed with private corporations and will receive stipends, a weekly housing allowance, and travel to and from your location.

Drawing from a nationwide resource of qualified students, corporations have access to the full applicant pool to select interns that best fit their specific needs. Corporations from across the U.S. are encouraged to apply in order to provide interns with geographically diverse opportunities.

IACMI partners, Ford and DowAksa are collaboratively transforming the automotive market. Their objective to make carbon fiber the sensible alternative to steel structures has earned them a Detroit Free Press Automotive Difference Maker award.

Starting with a few carbon fiber parts on the Ford GT supercar, the development project aims to create strong, lightweight vehicles with fewer emissions available to mass-markets in the foreseeable future. Vehicles like the F-150 pickup, Fusion midsize sedan and Explorer SUV are being evaluated for the use of carbon fiber parts, with the potential to be built weighing hundreds of pounds less than current vehicles.
