Serving Workforce Needs
Through the IACMI Internship Program, more than 100 undergraduate and graduate students from across the U.S. have had the unique opportunity to use state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment and to interact with scientists and engineers who are at the top of the advanced composites and manufacturing fields. And, 100 percent of IACMI interns have either graduated with a job offer in industry or an acceptance into a graduate program.
Since 2016, IACMI’s program has offered participants an internship rich in experiential learning and professional development opportunities, as well as a chance to be a part of a team in emerging technologies. During their appointment period, interns have developed scientific posters and delivered presentations to exhibit the results of their internship project during an IACMI Members Meeting. In addition to being able to showcase their research, this presentation event has allowed students an opportunity to develop their presentation and networking skills. More than 300 individuals from IACMI member and partner organizations in industry, government, and academic partners attend IACMI Members Meetings.
